Bevel options are 37.5° for ASME or 22.5° for AWS.
The 1/2" coupon is an excellent option for limited position but unlimited thickness qualification to ASME Section IX. In AWS D1.1, a test on 1/2" material will qualify the welder for material up to 1" thick. Be sure to check the code you're working to for specific ranges.
